Why do Newcastle fans refer to Mike Ashley as a Cockney when he's from Bedfordshire, which last I checked isn't London?

What's it like losing to your most hated rivals year in and out, when like Newcastle they're a bit of a laughing stock? Talking of the Mackems, do you have a question for them as we're up there on the 3rd of October?

OK. More serious one - and which I would like answered!

Is it still the case that any "sack the board" graffiti on the side of St James Park gets removed ASAP whilst "kill all cockeneys"[sic] and "Petrol is dear but cheap to burn hammers" is still proudly displayed / not removed?
Because this certainly was the case from 1988-1992, along the Leazes Terrace side of the ground.
